$86,482.00 - $129,723.00The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
Directs the daily operation of a major department. Manages the coordination, direction, and policy development in areas of compliance, finance, facility operations, staff administration, and support services. Directs the preparation of grants and contracts and ensures support services. Directs the preparation of grants and contracts and ensures their compliance to institution funding source and federal guidelines and regulations. Develops short and long-term planning for the business affairs and/or faculty affairs of the department. Implements staff administration actions regarding departmental hiring, departmental orientation, etc. Exercises broad fiscal and administrative responsibility for a department. Recruits, trains, and supervises an administrative staff for the department. Manages a staff of employees. Responsible for a budget including grants and contracts.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Directs financial performance reporting systems and formulates short- and long-range goals to ensure financially-sound performance. Manages budgets, including operating funds, gifts, endowments, etc. Relates technology shifts to budget impact and advises on appropriate mitigation or adjustment to expense or funding lines. Directs and manages all financial reporting and cost accounting activities. Manages and analyzes monthly income and expense statements, revenue analysis, account receivable aging and accounts receivable collection. Partners with divisional Finance staff to input budget information into system(s). Manages financial analysis processes. Forecasts salary and benefit spending. Prepares quarterly account summaries and consolidated spend plans. Reviews models based on changes in allocation methods and provides executive reports to include recommendations of support models. Participates in quarterly reviews. Advises on budget and spend adjustments required to meet annual commitments and approved budgets. Provides variance analysis as needed. Forecasts and projects costs and finances. Compares budgets to actual spend, identifying areas of concern and/or inconsistencies and develops ways to proactively manage and/or address. Ensures internal controls and compliance, including financial reconciliation and review.
- Works with leadership and operational staff to develop, coordinate and implement operational and administrative activities. Organizes and leads department meetings to determine objectives, align goals and develop strategic plan initiatives to accomplish. Plans, develops and implements strategies for staff management and employee development. Provides supervision and coaching to ensure staff are working efficiently and collaboratively. Manages HR needs of the team, including but not limited to, making hiring decisions, conducting training, providing ongoing supervision, managing personnel issues and actions, and conducting performance reviews. Recommends and reviews promotions, reclassifications, and market and equity adjustments. Develops and administers evaluations to provide feedback and enhance performance and leadership.
- Sets departmental administrative policies, drives process improvements, and ensures all administrative functions support the institution’s mission and goals.
