Job Description

The Takeda Biobank team has oversight over research samples collected as part of Takeda clinical trials. The team organizes cross-functional review of research requests using clinical trial samples post-CSR. The team also reviews Protocols and ICFs during study start-up for alignment with research goals, and ICF reviews at study closeout for determinations on sample fate including future research.

How You Will Contribute:

Biobanking of clinical samples from Takeda clinical trials requires oversight and maintenance of an expansive sample inventory. Part of this oversight includes assessing the sample quality of samples stored long-term. During this internship, the intern will work independently and collaborate with various teams, including sample management/biobanking, scientific informatics, CROs and LIMS providers.
 

Main areas of focus will be:

  • Generation and analysis of assay data,

  • Extrapolating and understanding assay data for creation of forward-facing work instructions and guidelines

  • Present findings to a broader Takeda audience.

  • The intern will be involved in understanding complexities involved with large-scale sample management, data analysis, scientific writing, and development of new R&D guidelines

Job Requirements:

  • This position is remote

  • Must be pursuing an Undergraduate, Graduate, PhD, MD degree with completion of a minimum of one year of university studies.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication and writing skills.

  • Deadline-driven with an elevated level of organizational and planning skills.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.

  • Proven record of accomplishment of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity.

  • Global mindset to grow in a diverse work environment.

  • Experience and understanding of laboratory testing procedures

  • Familiarity with basic statistics and data analysis procedures. Understanding of data integration, data harmonization and machine

  • learning/AI tools. Basic understanding of lab assay data.


Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 22nd) or (June 16th - August 29th)

    • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program
