Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Civil Manager for immediate employment in the Houston, TX office. The appropriately qualified applicant will have demonstrated experience in project management of multi-disciplinary transportation projects. The candidate can look forward to leading transportation projects in Texas.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
• Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
• Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.
• Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
• Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
• Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
• Manages a multidisciplinary team, coordinating activities of the unit.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters’ Degree in civil engineering or another engineering discipline
- 15+ years of previous experience, including project management on transportation projects including Planning and Schematic/environmental projects
- Experience with corridor and feasibility studies
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project with subconsultants
- Ability to promote and initiate transportation solutions for a broad application of client needs
- Experience with TxDOT
- Experience with Business Development/Client Relations
- Experience with Client proposals and interviews
- Experiences with Client contract document preparation
- Proven experience of success with pursuits
- Experience with managing people at various experience levels and ability to mentor with their career development
- Good communication skills and ability to manage a team
- Experience planning and facilitating public involvement activities
- Experience as a Project Manager, Deputy PM and Task Lead
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Work in a collaborative manner.
- Exercises quality control procedures

Additional Information
- Offered rate of compensation (Texas locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $185,000/yr.
