BACKGROUND Purpose of Activity/Assignment: One of the primary activities undertaken by the Data and Analytics Section (D&A) is compiling data and conducting statistical analyses for global monitoring and reporting. UNICEF’s work in the area of data analysis highlights trends and emphasizes patterns found within the data and suggests how these data can be used strategically to inform evidence-based policy and programmatic efforts. The results of UNICEF’s data analysis work appear in its flagship publications as well as data-driven thematic reports, articles, brochures, documents and other dissemination materials. The purpose of this consultancy is to provide graphic design support for a variety of data products for the Mortality and Demographics team. Scope of Work: The consultant will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing and producing high-quality products featuring UNICEF data, in collaboration with D&A focal points. More specifically, the designer will support the production of a number of data-driven publications and dissemination products on mortality and children on the move. The designer will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, layout, picture selection and typesetting of the publications, and for ensuring broad alignment of the products with UNICEF design standards and branding. Since most of the products will be data-driven with a number of graphs, maps and figures, the designer will need to produce creative and visually appealing final products.
