As a Software Engineer Intern- R&D, you will work on developing a Modular Physical Properties Machine Application. This system will integrate:
- Compression measurements from the New Titleist DCM (currently under development for the Ball Plants & Ball R&D)
- Size and weight measurements from the Size-Weight Station (used at the Innovation Test Range) or the 5Way Size Unit (built for product development in 2024)
The result will be a unified system capable of delivering comprehensive physical property measurements.
Project Objectives
- Enhance operational resilience: Create a backup and additional testing capacity solution for physical property measurements to maintain operations during maintenance or repair periods for the Physical Property Machine
- Build for the future: Lay the groundwork for future software development projects in physical property measurement, including evaluating new imaging hardware
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to understand system requirements and integration points
- Design and develop a modular application to combine data from multiple measurement systems
- Test and validate the application's functionality with live data
- Document the development process, including technical details, for future enhancements
Qualifications
- Current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience writing software in a C/C++ based language such as C#, Java, Python, or C++
- Exposure to web-based software development technologies such as CSS, HTML, JavaScript, SignalR, Websockets, WebAPI, and/or Blazor
- Familiarity with system integration and data acquisition software development
