Equinix is seeking a visionary Senior Director of Capital Markets & Foreign Exchange (FX) to lead our global funding and risk management strategy. This executive will play a pivotal role in optimizing our long-term capital structure, minimizing cost of capital, and managing global foreign currency and interest rate exposures, this leader will be instrumental in shaping and executing our financial strategy to support continued growth and innovation.
This role carries significant impact — decisions made here directly influence profitability, liquidity, credit ratings, and overall financial resilience. Responsibilities
Capital Market Strategy & Execution
- Contribute to the formulation of the global strategies with respect to sourcing capital
- Assess optimal debt/equity levels, leverage, and credit ratings
- Drive the execution of capital raises and related hedging strategies
- Identify options and execute financing for M&A transactions
- Oversee the Treasury long-term model in partnership with FP&A, Tax, and Corporate Development
- Maintain proactive engagement with rating agencies to advocate for Equinix’s credit profile
Foreign Currency and Interest Rate Risk Management
- Design and implement comprehensive FX and interest rate hedging strategies for both ongoing operations and one-time transactions.
- Establish and monitor risk tolerance thresholds for foreign exchange and interest rate exposures.
- Evaluate hedge effectiveness and report on P&L, taxable income, and cash flow impacts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on FX and interest rate risk across the enterprise.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across Capital Markets and FX/Interest Rate functions.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Tax, Accounting, Legal, and Corporate Development.
- Cultivate strong relationships with external partners including banks, rating agencies, and legal advisors.
- Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and strategic thinking within the Treasury organization.
What You Will Bring
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in Finance, Banking, or Treasury functions, with a strong understanding of global capital and FX markets.
- Proven ability to analyze and execute capital market strategies, including debt/equity optimization, credit rating management, and financing for M&A transactions.
- Deep knowledge of financial instruments and hedging strategies, with the ability to manage foreign currency and interest rate exposures.
- Strong technical acumen and financial modeling skills, with the ability to view transactions through economic, tax, accounting, and investor lenses.
- Demonstrated leadership in coaching and developing teams, and partnering cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Accounting, and Corporate Development.
- Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence, with a track record of aligning stakeholders and influencing at executive and board levels.
- Innovative problem-solving mindset, with integrity, initiative, and reliability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with tools such as FXall, Bloomberg, Reval, and Oracle is a plus.
