Position: Beverage Assistant Manager
Department: Food and Beverage
Job Summary: Oversees the daily operations of the Beverage Department
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Oversees the daily operations of the Beverage department.
- Responsible for complying with all food and beverage health, liquor and safety regulations, as well as all federal, state and local applicable laws.
- Monitors job performances of all the Beverage department employees and provides feed back on same to aid the employees in developing and enhancing skills.
- Monitors performance of direct reports and approves performance appraisals.
- Reviews and approves all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and discipline all employees in a fair and equitable manner.
- Responsible for the scheduling, evaluating and training of the Beverage department employees ensuring staff’s compliance with all customer service standards.
- Responsible for listening to, evaluating and assuring control of customer grievances.
- Must maintain constant awareness of services, promotions and events to properly inform employees and guests.
- Must possess the ability to perform a high level of departmental training.
- Confers with beverage manager and upper management concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent regular attendance record.
- Responsible for assisting with AVA Amphitheater and other events that upper management requires.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that may be stressful at times.
- Ability to inspire other team members to provide the highest level of guest service.
- Ability to stoop, bend, walk, reach objects above shoulder height and use hands.
- Ability to stand and walk for most of a shift.
- Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Mandatory Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED and three (3) to four (4) years of beverage management or supervisory experience required.
- Two (2) years of event or convention food & beverage supervisory experience required.
- Must have knowledge of beverage purchasing, inventory control and scheduling.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and manage multiple areas at once.
- Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and retain valid gaming license.
- Must have valid Alcohol Awareness & Food Handlers cards.
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events as needed.
