Sr Engineering Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Engineering Technician supports engineers by completing prototype assembly, prototype validation testing and troubleshooting, constructing bills of materials, test fixture construction, process documentation, and other engineering related tasks. This position is responsible for providing knowledge and support to entry-level technicians through process demonstration and sharing essential information. The Sr Engineering Technician assists and supports software engineers and electronic design engineers with installing, maintaining software systems and/or design of equipment to meet customer specifications and provides technical support to customers.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Executes experiments and records findings.
• Supports and trains entry-level technicians.
• Prepares and processes engineering and manufacturing documentation.
• Completes prototype assembly. 
• Performs testing and troubleshooting of electronics products.
• Performs installation and set-up and configures and maintains software systems
• Assists with mechanical architecture, design and integration of products, tools, testers and components.
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Associates Degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 3+ years of previous electronics engineering experience preferred
• Basic understanding of electronic test equipment – scope, meter, function generator
• High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
