Job Summary
The Nuclear Equipment Operator is responsible for operating station equipment and systems in accordance with Administrative, Procedural, and Regulatory requirements.Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect assigned equipment, complete documentation associated with these inspections, and adjust equipment as necessary for proper equipment and system operation.
- Monitor trends in equipment performance and inform control room of any unexpected indications.
- Identify and initiate actions for material condition issues.
- Perform the initial actions required in response to an off-normal condition, and perform follow up actions as directed
- Identify and correct any abnormal conditions, hazards to personnel or equipment, or challenges to continuous service, if possible, and report any findings to the Control Room.
- As a member of the site Fire Brigade, perform firefighting, rescue and chemical spill response activities.
- Perform surveillances and special test activities
- Satisfactorily participate in a continuing training program structured to maintain and enhance job proficiency skills and prepare for NRC license examination.
Knowledge/Experience
Minimum background and knowledge requirements:
- High School Diploma, or GED equivalent required.
- Good computer skills
- Good written and verbal skills
- Strong teaming skills
- Must be successful on the POSSC exam
- Wage will be determined by level of experience
