Job Details:
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor plays a pivotal role in upholding quality standards for our food products. This role involves engaging in variable work activities that demand sound judgment, including prioritization, result evaluation, and effective coordination with colleagues. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards of products produced on a specific shift.
Responsibilities
Leadership: Lead FSQA technicians on their assigned shift.
Record Verification: Ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
Audits: Conduct audits and assist the FSQA manager in ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Audit Preparation: Prepare the facility for GFSI and customer-specific audits.
Issue Resolution: Investigate and address customer complaints, foreign material incidents, and environmental issues.
Production Oversight: Verify production paperwork and conduct production floor checks.
GMP and Housekeeping Audits: Execute audits to ensure cleanliness and adherence to GMP standards.
HACCP Reassessment: Oversee the annual reassessment of HACCP.
Training: Facilitate Team Member food safety training.
Flexible Work Hours: Flexibility in work hours is required, with coverage on other shifts as needed.
Weekend Work: Occasional weekend work may be assigned by the Manager.
Regulatory Communication: Communicate with onsite regulators (USDA).
Requirements
Education:
High School diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
At least 1 year in a food manufacturing environment is required.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
HACCP/HARPC certifications are preferred, along with broad knowledge of HACCP, USDA, GMP, and SSOPs.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills for creating simple queries and spreadsheets.
SAP knowledge preferred.
Communication Skills:
Written and verbal communication skills necessary to communicate across multiple disciplines.
Ability to communicate both verbally and written with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.
High-level critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
