Part Time / As Needed Registered Nurse

Department:
care setting to traditional college-aged population. Duties include but are not limited to; rooming patients and completing initial vitals, medication administration, phlebotomy, point of care testing specimen collection, patient education and assisting providers with minor procedures. This position is part-time and as needed during high patient volumes or planned full-time staff leaves/vacations. Position Type: Staff Required Education: Associates Degree in Nursing or equivalent Required Work Experience: 1 year experience in a clinical environment, preferably primary care/outpatient setting. Required Licenses and Certifications: RN License- State of Michigan
Basic Life Support Certification Physical Demands:
Administering medications and vaccines.
Phlebotomy/specimen collection.
Assisting providers with minor procedures.
Administering allergy injections, TB Skin Tests.
Assist clerical staff with scheduling.
Coordinating patient referrals and outpatient testing/imaging.
Patient education/campus health promotion.
Triaging phone calls to the direct nurse line.
Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty and staff to thrive authentically.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining privacy and confidentiality of designated information and performing duties in compliance with applicable policies and procedures, including HIPAA and State of Michigan Board of Nursing. Skills and Abilities: Delivers nursing care to patients in a responsible and accountable manner as dictated legally by the State of Michigan. Care is to be provided to patients ethically and in a culturally competent manner.
Demonstrates competency with the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Demonstrates competency in utilizing the electronic medical record (EMR) for charting purposes.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Required Documents:

Transcript must include: Institution name, applicant name, date degree attained, degree awarded. Finalist will be required to submit an official transcript.
