Responsibilities

Are you ready to launch an exciting career with Peraton supporting the Military Entrance Process Command under the MITES program? We are currently seeking a Senior Security Engineer to provide Cyber Security Support.

 

Location: Remote/Full-time

 

In this role, you will: 

  • Provide support for the Military Entrance Process Command’s MITES program. 
  • Provide support for systems located within MEPCOM facilities and in a cloud (AWS) environment.
  • Interface with various teams from various contractors who provide support for applications development, network operations, cybersecurity, database development, task management, systems administration, asset management, logistics, and business process management.
  • Support the full system Cyber engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, documentation, and implementation.
  • Responsible for supporting day-to-day security operations.
  • Ensure all systems security procedures are being followed.
  • Maintain responsibility for media control, virus scanning.
  • Supports implementation of STIGs and IAVAs on information systems
  • Responsible for the certification and accreditation of computer networks and standalone information systems using government standards.
  • Develops and implements security measures in accordance with applicable ICDs, NISP, other guiding government regulations and local facility procedures.
  • Conducts on-going vulnerability testing.
  • Supports certification and accreditation of computer networks and standalone information systems using government standards.
  • Interacts with government Security Officials to support conformance and auditing requirements.
  • Assists Information Systems Security Manager in reporting and mitigation of information system security incidents.
  • Prepares reports and system security briefings.
  • Initiates protective and/or corrective measures designed to prevent future incidents.
  • Interacts with various teams to identify, assess, and mitigate security issues.
  • Assists system owners with the development of security checklists, completing system scans, applying mitigation.
  • Develops, tracks and updates POAMS for various systems.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews documentation to support ATC and ATO packages.
  • Conducts scans and develops reports for management and customer.
  • Responsible for the application of concepts and principles
  • Ensure security standards and controls utilized by Federal civilian agencies, the DoD and the Intelligence Community are addressed / implemented as necessary.
  • Manages and directs the implementation, testing and validation of physical, technical and administrative security requirements.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to protect data systems and databases from unauthorized users.
  • Assists in educating users on security procedures.
  • Familiarity with RMF 2.0 Army Sentinel

 

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • A minimum of 8 years as an Information Security Analyst implementing security requirements for computer networks, hardware, and information systems.
  • Experience supporting a DoD customer supporting their Information Technology Security requirements.
  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) experience
  • STIGS experience.
  • Experience with developing / implementing cybersecurity plans.
  • Knowledge of federal laws and regulations as related to information/network security.
  • Current IAT Level III certification - one of the following (CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH)
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must have a recent National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation and the ability to pass additional background investigations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • 10+ years as a Security Analyst
  • 10+ years of experience in computer and information system security management
  • Experience supporting a DoD customer’s Information Technology security environment (Information Assurance, Cyber threat, Security plans/programs, Risk assessment/mitigation, after action analysis/remediation)
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal laws / policies and DoD policies / procedures related to information security.
