Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a highly driven Office Associate. This position is located at Stateville Correctional Center. You will be part of the Business Office team providing clerical duties in regards to Workers Compensation. If interested in this unique opportunity, please follow the instructions on the posting. Essential Functions
- Consolidates activities and compiles operational reports regarding occupation injuries, checking all reports and forms.
- Confers with the claims sections of Gallagher Bassett, the Attorney General, hospitals, clinics, private physicians, and the facility health care unit while compiling and maintaining files for all pertinent forms and returned forms for the facility.
- Interviews or corresponds with the employee on their rights and obligations in personal injury cases incurred by occupational causes.
- Collects and files employee medical statements for occupational illnesses and injuries for a historical record of employee health.
- Maintains reports/databases for Gallagher Bassett regarding the employee's status of occupational or service-connected injury.
- Coordinates status changes instituted among employees with the Personnel and Timekeeping departments as well as the employee's supervisors regarding workman compensation, illnesses, and injuries.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
