What You Will Be Doing

The primary purpose of this role is to develop business with Automotive OEM charging and facilities teams in North America. You will work with Automotive customers to understand their EV charging requirements / use-cases on a national basis developing propositions for the deployment of charging infrastructure at their workplace, manufacturing, test facilities and R&D locations. This will include leading the growth of existing OEM accounts, as well as acquisition of new strategic targets in preparation for explosive EV charging demand. You will be responsible for developing and leading strategic account engagement as well as holding others accountable cross-functionally within ChargePoint for customer success. 

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

ChargePoint is a high energy company within a fast-paced industry that is experiencing unprecedented growth. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • A strong mix of sales, account management, and business development experience with automotive OEMs
  • Excellent cross-functional program management skills
  • Experience in primarily a customer facing role while working internally with product, supply chain, legal, marketing, business development to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations on project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability of over-achieving targets
  • Strong bias-to-action and ability to influence and drive decision-making
  • Ability to deal with technical and commercial ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong foundation of technology understanding in both hardware and software, both vehicle and charging side
  • Sound analytical modelling skills
  • Crisp verbal and written communication skills with proven track record of influencing senior management at automotive OEMs
  • Big picture thinking and detail oriented
  • Experienced strategic account manager that can demonstrate competence at account mapping, detailed CRM record keeping (salesforce.com) and revenue forecasting
  • Capability to perform sales presentations and demonstrations to customers and prospects in a manner that creates curiosity and credibility

 

Requirements

  • Must have the verbal, quantitative, and interpersonal skills normally acquired through the completion of a BA, BSc or B.Eng. Master’s bonus.
  • 5+ years direct sales experience with a track record of managing large complex national/international OEM accounts
  • 8+ years’ experience working in the automotive industry
  • Vertical expertise with an ability to explain the value proposition of EVSE into the business plans of your target OEM customers
  • Executive level presence and track record of selling at executive levels across the organization (e.g., Automotive, Energy, Transportation, Real Estate, Sustainability, CFO, COO, etc.)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and manage internal cross-functional relationships
