Summary

The Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC) Radiologic Technologist plays a dual hybrid  role in clinical care and operational excellence across UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care centers, dedicating equal time to patient-facing radiologic procedures and administrative responsibilities. This position ensures high-quality imaging, supports workflow optimization, and collaborates with clinical and operations teams to foster staff development and maintain efficient center operations. Through technical expertise, cross-functional coordination, and commitment to GoHealth’s values, the technologist contributes to delivering an exceptional patient experience and advancing organizational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform and analyze patient x-rays using prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
  • Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants during patient examinations and treatments
  • Report radiologic findings to Medical Providers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care centers
  • Assist with patient care management, organization, and communication across clinical teams
  • Conduct site assessments and workflow reviews to support team development and operational efficiency
  • Lead and maintain Radiology Quality Assurance and Improvement programs, including image quality reviews, badge compliance, and exception reporting.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement performance improvement plans and radiology initiatives
  • Support onboarding and training of new Radiologic Technologists and act as liaison with radiology vendors and overread practices
  • Perform diagnostic x-ray services under provider direction, ensuring patient safety and image accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with clinical equipment quality control processes and legal safety standards.
  • Reconcile lab orders and results across clinical systems and assist with patient flow and preparation.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Complete administrative and clinical tasks with high quality, timeliness, and alignment with UPMC-GoHealth’s mission and values.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA/medical regulations for all state (WV/PA) and federal laws

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required (PA, WV)
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Radiology Technologist or other x-ray experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required or must be obtained in accordance with hire date
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Must pass MVR background check

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Radiologic Proficiency: Skilled in performing and interpreting diagnostic x-rays across patient age groups.
  • Quality Assurance Expertise: Experienced in developing and maintaining QA/QI programs, including image quality and compliance.
  • Operational Insight: Ability to assess workflows and implement improvements to enhance team performance and clinic efficiency.
  • Training & Mentorship: Supports onboarding and skill development of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiar with radiology equipment maintenance, badge compliance, and vendor coordination.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for working with clinical teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Time Management: Capable of balancing clinical duties with administrative responsibilities effectively.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of healthcare safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Able to identify and resolve imaging and workflow issues proactively.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods within an at-home and/or in center environments
  • Must be able to travel between facility locations, remote facilities, and out of town as defined by a standard weekly schedule (to be determined by manager)
  • Will require the use of safety equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
