The Operations Supervisor for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the manufacturing of high-quality medical device consumables, delivering on time to our customers and patients.

This position reports to the Operations Manager and is part of the Manufacturing & Operations department located in Richmond, IL and will be on-site.

Your primary responsibility will be managing the third shift manufacturing associates, ensuring effective supervision and support. This role includes ensuring safety, quality, and production efficiencies, as well as providing flexible supervisory support to operations associates. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage the third shift manufacturing associates, ensuring effective supervision and support
• Provide overall direction to production floor associates in the areas of production, scheduling, performance management, training, etc.  while striving to improve overall operational efficiencies.
• Lead and coach manufacturing teams through problem-solving processes; champion continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on lean transformation.
• Develop, coach, and manage operators to meet and exceed their potential

The essential requirements of the job include:

• High school diploma with 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment OR associate degree with 5+ years of experience OR bachelor degree
• Experience with continuous improvement processes and lean manufacturing preferred
• Previous people leadership experience, developing and coaching direct reports
• Familiarity leading and facilitating lean manufacturing or continuous improvements (Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Standard Work, etc.) with sustained results

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Problem solving tools and methods (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone)
• Knowledge of business systems, engineering, manufacturing, and financial systems, Inventory Control (Cycle Counts, Kanban, Material Movements)
• Developing and coaching direct reports
• Previous experience in an FDA or ISO-regulated manufacturing environment

The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $90,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
