Your Role at Baxter

Baxter offers a robust summer internship program based in the Chicagoland area that provides meaningful work assignments and projects that immerse students in the Baxter culture designed to provide practical work experience highlighting what an individual would do in a similar full-time role with the ability to make a business impact.  You'll be paired with a mentor, receive support from your manager, and have access to the entire Baxter employee community to ensure your success. 

The Baxter Advanced surgery team provides lifesaving products focused on wound hemostasis and sealing as well as other specialty surgical procedures. This internship will be specifically designed to leverage your analytic experience to analyze/audit our product item master data.

What You'll be Doing

  • Master data management for Advanced Surgery portfolio.
  • Lead a data audit of the full Advanced Surgery portfolio item code master.
  • Evaluate a master set of data within the Master Data Management (MDM) system and reconcile for accuracy against regulatory, clinical, supply chain and manufacturing product data.
  • Communication of major findings to management and brand product owners.
  • Resolve audit challenges and update the master data management system to reflect the correct information.
  • Compile listing of End of Life (EOL) products (item codes) currently active in the MDM system by using historical sales data.
  • Partner with the Product Design Owners (PDO) in R&D to confirm EOL.
  • Set a plan with PDO to initiate the EOL process for each item code.
     

What You'll Bring

Baxter is targeting students with proven academic performance and leadership potential.  Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities. 

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s in business, marketing analytics, data management or related degree.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Experience analyzing and auditing data.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, adaptive to change, and collaborative.
  • Actively involved in campus or community activities and organizations, preferably in leadership roles.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career.  At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.  To that end, this position has a pay rate of $26.00 an hour.
