THE JOB:

As a Heavy-Duty Kitchen Cleaner (Food and Beverage Utility Porter) you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and areas that have been assigned or directed to you. This will include equipment such as char broilers, flat tops, ovens, griddles, salamanders, deep fryers and more.

THE STARTING RATE:  $22.7156

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Clean ceilings, walls, and items requiring extended periods on a ladder
  • Perform deep cleaning of hot holding and cooking equipment, including char broilers, griddles, salamanders, deep fryers, and more
  • Collect pots and pans for washing in a three-compartment sink or pot machine; break down, spray, load, unload, and organize dishes, glassware, and flatware, ensuring they are returned to their designated storage locations
  • Maintain and manage chemical detergents
  • Scrape, wash, rinse, sanitize, and air-dry pots and pans, then return them to the appropriate storage
  • Clean baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables, and cutting boards; sweep and mop all floors and wash floor mats
  • Clean kitchen equipment, including dish machines, ice machines, pot machines, prep tables, hot boxes, refrigerators, and more
  • Separate and dispose of trash and garbage in designated containers, including handling biohazard clean-up as needed
  • Maintain inventory of linen and manage soiled linen removal
  • Transport equipment such as hot and cold boxes, speed racks, and push carts throughout the property
  • Polish equipment as required
  • Adhere to regulatory standards and departmental policies, including compliance with SNHD, OSHA, Fire Department regulations, and other relevant guidelines
  • Operate large electronic or gas-powered equipment, such as ride-on floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, forklifts, trucks, and power washers
  • Complete mandatory training, including health and safety courses required by the company or governing entities
  • Report any equipment issues to the direct supervisor

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • One (1) year of stewarding or comparable experience
  • Must be able to lift, push, carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Food Handlers card
  •  Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent
  • Culinary Training Academy Certification
  • Experience working in a similar resort setting
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cleaning various cooking equipment, including but not limited to ovens, stoves, flat tops, broilers, and more
  • Adept at handling cleaning chemicals and possess a thorough understanding of their usage
