Job Description

IBI Group’s Intelligence team understands that managing traffic and publishing the right information to the public can be a real challenge. That’s why we are developing solutions for our clients to make our cities smarter and our lives better. Combining data and complex algorithms with an intuitive user interface, our goal is to keep cities moving around the world. 

Our traffic management platform assists agencies in monitoring traffic conditions and responding to incidents, weather, and anything else that can impact the regular flow of their transportation network. Our solution facilitates event declaration and publication to the public, controls ITS infrastructure such as message signs and traffic detectors, and monitors traffic conditions and backup to provide awareness to agencies and motorists. 

We're looking for a critical thinker with a passion for improving transportation through technology. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced product team members for support and guidance, while retaining autonomy and direction over how you contribute to the team. 

This role will be working with the Wisconsin Traffic Management Center, working with TMC operators and traffic engineers to support their use of our software to improve traffic operations. You'll be a critical interface between the product team, client team, and our end users, so good communication and relationship management skills are important. Your key responsibility will be helping our client team--answering their questions and investigating and either escalating or resolving their issues. Experience working with customers is a definite plus.

Please note: This will be a fulltime on-site job opportunity where the candidate will be required to go to the Wisconsin Traffic Management center located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Most of the things you’ll work on:

  • Provide day-to-day user support, answering questions and explaining processes and workflows to aid users in understanding system functionality
  • Troubleshooting device and system configuration issues in order to determine if the problem is in code, configuration, user input, or external software/hardware.
  • Manage system configuration with devices, base mapping updates, and system parameters
  • Identify desired operational outcomes and implement system business rules to improve efficiency and support standard procedures
  • Analyze operational data and develop reports to help our clients monitor and improve transportation system performance
  • Track reported issues and current resolution status, maintaining close communication with the
  • Maintain close communication and coordination with the Project Manager, other Traffic Operations Managers and ITS Engineers/Technicians.
  • Be available to be on-call for off hour support when the need arises.

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

  • One (2) to five (5) years of experience 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or other related fields
  • Experience working with/providing user-support of computer hardware and software systems
  • Ability to coordinate real time activities and initiate immediate priorities, for self and support staff
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
