About the role

Position Summary

Provide excellent customer service and serve as primary source of information for the veterans participating in the program. Coordinate patient care with clinical providers in the DDS program, Oral Health Center for People with Disabilities and our Brooklyn campus. Promote customer service efforts and assist with efforts to measure and improve patient satisfaction. Recommend improvements to telephone communication standards/protocols. Utilize answering service software and NYU telecommunications options to monitor call volume and distribution, abandonment rates, recall program and messages left. Prepare, review and distribute weekly reports. Prescreen veteran patients for appointments. Maintain and update various databases. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the program's activities. Interact with the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Perform a wide range of clerical and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants. Review expenses and invoices for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and report results to supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Education:High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Education:Associate's Degree Required Experience:3+ years office experience in a dental clinic or related healthcare facility. Experience providing a high level of customer service Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent customer service skills. Ability to prioritize own work and coordinate work of others in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $36.529. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
