As a Sr Advisor I, Labor & Employee Relations at Phillips 66, you will provide specialized labor and employee relations support to our Midstream and corporate teams. In this senior individual contributor role, you will lead complex union and employee relations matters, helping leaders navigate collective bargaining agreements, investigations, and workplace change. You will play a key role in shaping fair, consistent people practices that support a safe, high-performing culture across our U.S. operations.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead labor and employee relations support for Midstream and corporate functions, serving as a primary point of contact on collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and union-related matters.
  • Interpret, negotiate, and administer CBAs, representing Phillips 66 in bargaining, grievance hearings, and other dispute-resolution forums.
  • Investigate complex workplace and policy issues, gather and analyze relevant information, and recommend practical solutions that support a safe, fair, and productive work environment.
  • Manage and deliver designated legal case work, including responses to federal and state agency complaints (such as EEOC, DOL, and NLRB), in partnership with Legal and HR leaders.
  • Assess emerging labor and employee relations trends and needs, and recommend updates to policies, processes, standards, and practices to improve operational support and compliance.
  • Advise and coach leaders on performance management, discipline, and application of policies and CBAs, building labor and employee relations capabilities across the organization.
  • Help develop and implement HR and employee relations procedures for assigned areas, monitoring consistency, quality, and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Use data, metrics, and insights to monitor the effectiveness of labor and employee relations processes, identify risks or gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote and model Phillips 66 health, safety, and environment expectations within labor and employee relations work, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and appropriately.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and change initiatives, bringing a strategic labor and employee relations perspective to business decisions and plans.

 

What You’ll Bring – Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 6 or more years of labor and employee relations and/or human resources experience.
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.

 

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • Master’s degree in human resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, or a Juris Doctor (J.D.).
  • 10 or more years of labor relations and/or human resources management experience.
  • Labor relations experience in a manufacturing or field operations environment.
  • Hands-on experience leading labor negotiations, grievance administration, and arbitration preparation.
  • Supervisory or people-lead experience, including setting expectations and holding others accountable for results.
  • Proven success developing and implementing labor and employee relations policies, tools, and training across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-volume case work while using data and metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions.
  • Broad HR technical expertise and familiarity with HRIS and case-management systems used to track labor and employee relations matters.
  • Strong written communication skills, including drafting investigation reports, CBA language, and responses to grievances and agency inquiries.

 

Compensation Range 

 

This position has a base salary range of $140,400 – $171,600.
