About the role

Summary

The Supply Chain Raw Material Planner is a key interface between Supply Chain and our vendors.  In this role they will ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary to support production requirements.  This includes timely placement and tracking of purchase orders as well as effectively problem solving and escalation of issues as they arise.

 

Responsibilities

1.         Long term planning and follow up

•           Coordinate with Network Planning and the Plant to ensure alignment of raw material deliveries to satisfy production requirements.

•           Manage vendors to ensure performance to agreed upon lead times and quality standards including managing SCARS, vendor file data, evaluations and re-evaluations in coordination with Corporate and Local QM.

•           Plan vendor and raw material change requests to ensure proper inventory levels through the transition.

 

2.         Medium and short term planning

•           Execution of weekly procurement plans, which includes requisition review and purchase order placement with the vendors including MRO items.

•           Maintain all open purchase orders with accurate delivery dates and proactively identify and address potential delays.

•           Resolve receiving and invoicing issues with the Vendor, Warehouse, and Finance as they arise.

•           Development, control and maintenance of the planning system ensuring data integrity & operational efficiency.

•           Work closely with external business units, operations, logistics and procurement groups to deliver a best in class service.

•           Coordinates inventory control including cycle counts, reconciliation, and reporting.

•           Coordinates non-conforming material procedures.

 

 

3.         Follow up and communication

•           Analyze and summarize raw material procurement data into effective business metrics.

•           Ensure vital component delivery information is shared in all relevant departments.

•           Follow up on backorder issues, and when required set up recovery plans.

•           Keep daily contact with manufacturing and ensure they have required information to act according to plans in their daily work.
