Sr. Platform System Engineer

Freedom Consulting Group is seeking a Sr. Platform System Engineer in St. Louis, MO. The System Engineer must be able to proactively craft, propose and implement configured solutions that address critical challenges and mission requirements faced by our customers. The candidate will work closely with clients within the United States Air Force Research Labs (AFRL), its Regions, Subordinate Commands and Components and the Department of Defense to establish solutions to support the customer’s mission and make it successful, broaden the impact of GIS technology to its business, and help maintain and shape the ArcGIS platform by identifying new implementation opportunities. Provide O&S support to the platform infrastructure.  . Work closely with IC and DoD customers and partners to identify, design, implement and maintain key GIS components for the ArcGIS platform architecture. Support at most bi-weekly after hour maintenance windows 2-hour duration.  Provide platform (i.e., client and server) configuration support, mentoring, guidance, and best practices to customers of O&S of the ArcGIS platform architecture in a VPC environment. Install and upgrade ArcGIS Enterprise Platform components within the AFRL VPC.    Be able to implement and maintain the ArcGIS Enterprise Platform in a high availability configuration in a cloud environment.   Present complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of staff in a diverse range of customer organizations. Possess a desire to immerse yourself in location-based problem solving to support our client’s missions. Develop scripts using Python to customize portal capabilities based on customer requirements .    Collaborate internally to help customer organizations align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri’s technology platform.    Prepare and present high-quality business and technically related documentation

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in geography, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field; and 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administrating enterprise GIS backend systems
• Systems engineering experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS
• Experience managing and maintaining a High Availability (HA) ArcGIS Enterprise platform architecture
• Experience using the HA to upgrade the portal components without causing a service outage 
• Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud
• Python scripting utilizing the ArcPY API
• Experience with both Linux RedHat and Windows server operating systems
• Experience managing Apache Tomcat web server in the ArcGIS Enterprise platform
• Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platform
• CompTIA Security+ Certification

Desired Qualifications

• Direct work-related experience in and familiarity with the organizations and operations of the US Intelligence Community (IC) and/or Department of Defense (DoD)
