Permanent Building Substitute Teacher:
Naperville CUSD203 is a large, suburban school district with 22 schools and many opportunities to substitute each day. We have high expectations for students and for staff, including our substitute teachers. Daily Rate = $180
Not a benefits eligible position
Location = Maplebrook Elementary School
Essential Functions:
- Deliver lesson plans as instructed by the regular classroom teacher and/or school administrators.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students within the assigned classroom and appropriately respond to all emergency situations.
- Ensure the protection of equipment, materials and facilities as appropriate.
- Communicate in a positive way with all students, staff, and others.
- Manage student behavior which supports a positive learning environment
Other Functions:
- May be required to participate in building events such as fire drills, evacuations, assemblies, etc.
- May need to direct activities of a classroom assistant(s)
Qualifications:
- Active state of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Willingness to work 5 days per week at the assigned school

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Standing approximately 30-35% and for periods of up to 30 minutes required. Walking approximately 30-35% for periods of up to 15 minutes. Sitting 30-40%. Teacher discretion is used to determine when to sit, stand, and walk as appropriate.
- May need to sit on the floor for assignments in the Early Childhood and K-2 setting.
- May need to navigate uneven surfaces for some assignments.
- May need to be outside at times.
- May need to work with materials such as paint, clay, glue, crayons, etc. for some assignments.
