We are seeking a Software Engineering Intern to work on the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) International programs as part of the Software Engineering department at our Fort Wayne, Indiana office site. This is an excellent opportunity for a student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related course of study to join the fast-paced and exciting Raytheon/Collins team.  Success in this position will enhance the reach of the AFATDS International family of products throughout the world.

The successful candidate is expected to work in a team environment under the guidance of a team leader to develop implementation of software requirements for various Fire Support Command and Control (C2) software products, including, but not limited to, the transition of the AFATDS legacy code base to a modern software architecture.  This is an onsite position located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

What You Will Do:

  • Implement AFATDS software capabilities for new and/or updated requirements
  • Identify, analyze, and remedy bugs in the existing AFATDS software
  • Pathfind and execute the transformation of the AFATDS codebase to a modern software architecture
  • Work with a technical mentor utilizing a defined project plan and milestones

What You Will Learn:

  • Working in a team environment
  • Experience working on disciplined engineering challenges and tasks
  • Experience in various work assignment
  • Developing Fire Support C2 software in Ada and Java

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • AI/ML, Data Science and SW Development experience preferred
