What You Will Do:
The Data Specialist must have technical competence and be proactive in both quantitative and qualitative data sourcing, compilation, and organization, with a major focus on data interpretation through trend and pattern analysis and forecasting. They must demonstrate interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and have experience in technical writing and business process development. The Data Specialist should demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and partners, and help create a positive environment of trust and inclusiveness within the Data and Systems Strategy group. They must have the ability to manage time, tasks, and resources effectively in a deadline-oriented, customer service environment, and be able to work in both a team environment as well as independently. Additionally, the Data Specialist will control and track projects, and liaise with appropriate groups to help coordinate project-related activities among Gas Transmission and Midstream (US & Canada) Departments.
Collaborate with the Pipeline Data Management, Drafting, and Enterprise Asset Management teams to define, form, and implement a data nomenclature workgroup.
Assist the Asset Information Management Manager with the ongoing refinement of GTM’s asset-related nomenclature and continued socialization of these parameters throughout GTM.
Through collaboration with data owners and major partners, assess and implement the collection of metrics that allows for the integrated tracking and forecasting of Department tasks and projects.
Apply expert analytical skills (including statistical analysis) on data originating from a wide range of sources, which includes defining and interpreting the data, and presenting the data’s implications through written or visual media.
Participate in and lead business process improvement efforts as they relate to overall data nomenclature.
Coordinate activities and develop wireframes and other visual representations of projects and processes that communicate and implement objectives relating to the overall strategy of the data nomenclature workgroup within the Asset Information Management group.
Support the Asset Information Management Manager in major department initiatives as they relate to overall data governance.
Train data analysis staff in standard methodologies related to data compilation, storage, and archival/retention.
Recommend continuous improvement opportunities for data-related process control, procedures, and results implementation.
Required:
Technologist Degree
12 years experience Senior/Specialist
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and have experience in technical writing and business process development.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and various partners as well as help create a positive environment of trust and inclusiveness within the Asset Information Management group.
Experience synthesizing large amounts of data into meaningful metrics related to progress assessment and forecasting.
Experience in skills/process training.
Advanced presentation and visualization skills.
Advanced critical thinking and analytical skills.
Advanced skills in Excel.
Ability to manage time, tasks
