Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated
Project Health & Safety Supervisor
to support our projects in the Berlin region.
Your main responsibilities:
- The application of Health & Safety (H&S) Standards that embrace a range of subject matters which align directly or indirectly with the health, safety and protection of Vattenfall staff and (sub)contractors.
- You will report to the Project Health & Safety manager.
- You will support the Project Construction Manager(s) and Project H&S manager in anticipating, identifying, analysing and mitigating the job safety hazards that are relevant to construction projects, through Site Specific Safety Planning and/or through Corrective and/or Preventative Action or completed analysis.
- You will continuously supervise construction project(s) to maintain an incident and injury free work environment while ensuring compliance with (local) H&S regulations. You will provide technical expertise and consultation during pre-job planning throughout work activities.
- You will conduct safety inspections, and document near misses, injuries, and accidents and participate in Emergency Planning.
- You will provide on-going communication to supervision and management concerning H&S program performance.
- You will work closely with Vattenfall employees and contractors.
Qualifications
Professional / personal characteristics:
- Professional H&S certification.
- 5+ years of H&S/Construction Safety experience performing duties in a construction environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
- Thorough understanding of applicable construction occupational health and safety principles, and of local regulations.
- An ability to speak German and English.
Work hours are typical day shift hours, Monday to Friday. Weekend and holiday work may be required. Overtime may be required.
The only travel anticipated with this role is to and from the offices and project sites in the Berlin Region. Business meetings and possible future project assignments may require additional travel.
This position will need to be onsite daily to support projects and routine tasks.
