About the Job

Responsible for providing application and sales support to customers from national laboratories, universities, end users and OEMs.  The Technical Sales Engineer will assist in the development of a sales strategy for the assigned market and in the execution of that strategy from lead generation through delivery of product, and the building of relationships that will expand Spellman’s reach into the market.

What You Will Do:

• Develop deep technical knowledge of Spellman’s products, high voltage power supply technology and our customer’s applications.

  • Point of contact for inquiries (telephone/website) from various customers, including government laboratories, academic universities and other end users for standard Spellman products. 

• Assess customer’s high voltage power supply requirements and recommend appropriate product(s).    

• Generate and provide quotes via Spellman’s CRM system in a timely manner.

• Follow up quote to close the sale, working in conjunction with the global field sales team as necessary.

  • Follow up the sale to assure customer satisfaction.

• Prospect laboratories and academic universities to identify new sales opportunities by attending trades shows and site visits as justified by the business opportunity. 

• Foster and grow customer relationships via establishing personal rapport with purchasing, engineering and and technical team members. 

• Convert these new business opportunities into tangible sales.

• Develop relationships with Spellman’s sales, engineering and production team members to assure success in this position.

  • Support technical marketing activities such as data sheet creation and maintenance, writing application notes and FAQs, and providing voice of customer feedback for relevant marketing efforts.

What You Need:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical degree

• Previous sales experience and / or power conversion technical experience is strongly desired

• Confident self-starter with excellent interpersonal and social skills

• Outstanding written and oral communication abilities

• Comfortable working with individuals at all levels of business

• Detail orientated, able to balance multiple priorities and communicate expectations effectively

• Ability to work independently yet seek out appropriate assistance when required

• Strong computer skills including MS Office applications, e-Mail and customer contact/reporting systems, etc.

Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $94,156  to $136,645 . Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a highly competitive benefits package.

This position offers a hybrid work model, blending remote flexibility with required in-office days for optimal collaboration and productivity at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY.

Our Good Faith Estimate of the salary range for this position is $94,156 - $136,645. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.
