About the opportunity
The Sr Director Global Benefits is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all employee benefit plans and programs. This role has a high level of strategic responsibilities and implements the detailed processes to support the Benefits team. This role also provides analytical and plan expertise for the health, welfare, and retirement programs as well as ensures plans and programs are in alignment with Dayforce’s business objectives and overall rewards philosophy.
What you'll get to do
• Manages, plans, develops, implements, administers and communicates benefit programs, including all global health, welfare and retirement benefit plans. May also have responsibility for other global benefit programs, as assigned
• Manages the overall benefit plan renewal process and annual benefit plan budgeting in close partnership with Finance
• Reviews, edits and negotiates vendor contract agreement language, terms and performance guarantees, involving internal and/or external legal counsel as appropriate
• Creates and executes written project plans that identify scope, deliverables, tasks, accountabilities and due dates required to ensure successful project completion
• Develops, introduces, markets and communicates all benefit program implementations and changes to employees
• Responsible for the overall relationship with vendors, brokers and/or consultants
• Proactive in anticipating changes and needs of the marketplace, company, and employees to ensure the benefit program remains competitive and financially sustainable
• Researches legislative requirements and ensures compliance of the various employee benefit plans and programs. Oversees internal and external audits and ensures internal compliance standards are met
• Envisions, conceptualizes, and formulates action plans for process improvements, service delivery enhancements, and cost savings measures
• Provides guidance, advice, analysis, and training of HR professionals with respect to applicable benefit plans
• Recognized subject matter expert and provides consultation regarding complex benefit issues
• Provides consultation on various workforce actions as needed from time to time
• Responsible for managing a global benefits team, including employee coaching, development, performance management and staffing
Skills and experience we value
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 10-15+ years’ experience in a benefit leadership position including supervision of a professional benefits staff, with at least 5+ years in a global/multi-national organization
• Strong working knowledge of benefits, ERISA & other governing regulations
• Strong analytical competence, including modeling and scenario planning
• Ability to develop project plans and lead and/or act in key role on strategic projects and initiatives
• Proven ability to perform and lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships with both internal and external vendors, brokers/consultants, and customers
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, organize, implement and administer effectively in all areas of accountability
• Demonstrated maturity in influencing leaders and employees at all levels across the organization while maintaining confidentiality of all employee data
• Capable of effectively managing multiple, sometimes conflicting, projects
• Previous experience in an automated benefits environment with prior knowledge of HRMS
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and word processing
• Experience working for a high-tech global organization
