Columbus School for Girls seeks to hire an energetic and creative full-time Upper School Humanities Teacher to begin in the 2024-2025 academic year. This position also includes the potential for leadership in roles such as grade-level dean, club advisor, affinity/alliance group leader, etc. CSG offers a competitive salary, benefits, professional opportunities, and welcomes candidates who add to the diversity of the school community.

Major Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Teach four classes (two history, two English).
  • Lead student activities including May Program and staffing writing center.
  • Lead an advisory group
  • Participate actively in the life of the school, including leading clubs and/or activities, chaperoning school trips (including a potential overnight trip), and possibly coaching
  • Potential leadership responsibilities (Form Level Dean, Club Advisor, Affinity/Alliance Groups, etc.)

Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Ability to teach a scope of different levels.
  • Strong candidates will have at least three years of experience teaching.
