Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Production Supervisor.

This position will be directly assisting in the overall administration and coordination of production. This position will be directly assisting in maintaining and enhancing the department’s critical deadlines in production and the management deadlines in administrative demands.

 

 

Summary/Objective.
This position will Supervise the Production Control Team, support the Operations/ Shipping teams.   The position will ensure that actual ERP labor and material reporting is accurate and have the ability to make comparisons to standard costing.  This position will be proactive in identifying, analyzing and or improving upon existing business processes within the TPG pressure operations. 

Job Description

Responsibilities
•    Assist Operations Team on Ad-Hoc projects, audits, and internal inventory transactions in the ERP system
•    Assists with maintaining that inventory is housed in the proper Warehouse locations in the ERP system. 
•    Other inventory-related accounting tasks such as working with Finance function to ensure month end transactions are completed in a timely manner. 
•    Preparing reconciliation reports and obtaining authorizations for Inventory recounts and adjustments
•    Review and approve variances as it relate to actual cost vs standard cost for Bill of Materials and Routings
•    Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records
•    Follow up with warehouse and operations on outstanding matters
•    Support implementation and maintenance of on-time ERP reporting. 
Skills
•    Work experience as an Inventory Supervisor and or have inventory supervision skills ( 2 years) 
•    Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical error
•    Excellent communication, administrative and organizational skills
•    Strong Computer Skills, especially MS Office (Excel
Knowledge
•    Production and processing. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
•    Administration and Management. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. 
•    Education and Training. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, reaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. 
•    Mathematics- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications, 

 

Required Education and Experience

  • •    Minimum of bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and demonstrated record of safety-focused leadership.
  • Knowledge 5S process improvement.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation 
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP software (experience with IFS a plus).
  • Outstanding communication ability
  • Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
  • Bilingual - a plus, not required.
