Job DetailsJob Location: Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center - Denver, CO 80246Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $59,000.00 - $65,000.00 Salary/yearThe Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center of Denver (JCC) is seeking a Sports Program Manager of Aquatics, Fitness, and Tennis. The Sports Program Manager is responsible for cultivating and maintaining a positive and inclusive fitness environment while helping individuals improve their overall health and well-being by managing the scheduling of Fitness and Tennis Desk staff and assisting in the coordination of programs and events throughout the JCC. The Sports Program Manager will assist with marketing programs, recruiting, hiring, and training all fitness and tennis desk employees in accordance with established costs, procedures, and staffing needs; and providing leadership and opportunities for overall facility growth, membership growth, and growth of fitness and tennis programs.

Role and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include the overall management, leadership, financial performance, staffing, and daily operation of the Fitness and Tennis Department.
Ensures guests receive positive experiences by maintaining the standards of service set by the JCC.
Submits all paperwork and reporting, including payroll, departmental annual budgets, etc, in accordance with JCC policies.
Oversees monthly inventory management and purchasing controls of supplies, equipment, and or products.
Recruits the key personnel for fitness and tennis desk, Ensures the staff is fully knowledgeable on the use and benefits of services, products, programs, and activities by conducting regularly scheduled staff meetings and training workshops.
Conducts on-going training/educational programs for fitness and tennis desk.
Creates and manages schedule for Fitness and Tennis Desk staff.
Ensures appropriate facility supervisory coverage through use of a Manager on Duty (MOD) system. Ensures fiscal responsibility through efficient scheduling of facility and, when necessary, makes changes to stay within budgetary guidelines.
In partnership with the JCC’s Human Resources department, assesses employees’ progress continually; coaches employees with positive reinforcement, and disciplines, when necessary, fairly and consistently; coordinates and conducts annual performance evaluations, and, when necessary, assists in the termination process.
Provides excellent customer service and monitors guest feedback through the use of JCC systems other customer care techniques.  Supervises and follows up on guest requests and comments.
Ensures facility is only accessed by actual members and/or guests, and that it is safe and secure at all times.
Assists with sales coverage as needed.
Conducts External Business Development and assists with obtaining corporate partnerships.
Maintains cooperation and teamwork throughout the facility, placing a high emphasis on client service and satisfaction.
Identifies, evaluates, and resolves problems in a timely manner, utilizing innovative ideas and sound judgment.
Assists in the development and implements systematic membership programs that target new members, general memberships, and infrequent users.
Ensures compliance with all state licensing and health requirements.
Ensures fiscal responsibility through programming revenue and efficient scheduling of department and/or facility and, when necessary, makes changes or plans to stay within budgetary guidelines while exceeding revenue budgeted.
Develops member participation, retention, and recruitment plans for the fitness, tennis, Pilates, fitness and tennis desk and group exercise programs.  
Prepares any incident or accident reports and forwards them to the COO and Human Resources Department as appropriate.
Assist the Head Tennis Pro in Coordinating and structuring all lesson programs including Junior Academy, summer camps, adult private and group lessons and/or drills, and any adult camps or special programs. 
Assist the Tennis Professional Staff with all phases of the promotion of the tennis lesson programs.
Direct, with assistance from the Head Tennis Pro, all phases of USTA sanctioned and non-sanctioned tennis tournaments.
Help coordinate adult and junior Annual Club Championships including pre-event planning, entry design, and mailing, sponsor solicitation, participant data entry, decorating, tournament draws, event set up, food planning, entertainment planning, and other details necessary to begin building a tournament reputation of excellence at the JCC Tennis Center.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum of three years supervisory experience in a fitness setting.
Minimum of 2 years of experience instructing tennis players of all ages.
Minimum of 1 year experience with Racquet Sports.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
