Chef - Indian cuisine

Indoitalian, a restaurant in Reykjavík is seeking a chef to join their team. <br><br>We are seeking a skilled and dedicated chef/cook to join our restaurant team.<br><br>The chef/cook will be responsible for:<br>Preparation, cooking, and presentation of our guests. Preparation of authentic Indian dishes as well as a variety of sauces and curry preparations, baking breads and cooking meats in a Tandoor (Indian style clay oven). <br>Aid in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. <br>Garnishing and presenting food using new cooking techniques. <br>Plan menus, ensure food quality, and maintain portion control. <br>Contribute to developing new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand. <br>Coordinate&nbsp;&nbsp;with the preparation and planning of meal designs. -<br>Support in recruiting and training new kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.<br><br>Key Knowledge and Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare, cook according to customer requirments <br>• Ensure the kitchen maintains high standards of cleanliness and<br>food safety.<br>• Properly handle, cool, and store food to ensure safety.<br>• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, including<br>ovens, stoves, refrigerators, work surfaces, pots, pans, and utensils.<br>• Demonstrate experience and knowledge in cooking<br>and handling high quality .<br>Knowledge in HACCAP is advantage.<br>Qualities: - Positive mindset. - proficiency in English is must.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to work independently. - Ability to work under pressure&nbsp;&nbsp;- Valid<br>driver´s licence - Experience in a standared restaurant or star hotel is must.- Diploma or Degree in Cooking courses.<br><br>Position Details:<br>• This is a long term position from 25 July 2026.<br> Wages will be based on education and work experience according to collective agreemets with Matvís union or Efling union. <br><br>Please apply by filling in an online application here: <a href="https://form.vinnumalastofnun.is/eures" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://form.vinnumalastofnun.is/eures</a>/ and put "260720-01" in the field for employer.<br>Last application date is September 1st, 2026.<br><br>
