Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Water) to support our Water Business Line in Chicago, Illinois. While the primary focus of this position is lead structural engineering work related to facilities design, the appropriately qualified candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of water engineering work due to the large program and project backlog AECOM possesses.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Facilities and construction design
• Project Management for Facilities projects performed by design term consultants. 
• Administration of the Job Order Contract for miscellaneous facilities improvements which includes developing scopes of work, reviewing proposals and contractor negotiations.
• Performs miscellaneous structural investigations as needed at facilities and recommends needed improvement. 
• Reviews Contractor proposals, issues work orders, tracks progress and payments.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience with structural facilities design and construction

• Illinois Professional Engineering License.

• Experience and familiarity with the following programs: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D, xpSWMM, FHWA Toolbox, HY-8, ArcGIS, AutoDesk Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary Analysis / Pipe Networks or MicroStation Geopak Drainage

• Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.

• Flexible, motivated, candidate who can maneuver internal and external clients and has desire to grow and identify new/different opportunities while also providing them to team members.
