Capital One Auto is seeking a detail-oriented and efficiency-focused Managing Editor to oversee editorial content for the Auto Navigator Auto Learning Center, which features expert car reviews and informative car-buying/ownership articles.
A successful Managing Editor will be passionate about consumer-friendly automotive content and the entire editorial process. Responsibilities include managing the editorial calendar and CMS production team, overseeing the content team’s workflow from assignment to publication, and meeting established production goals with high-quality content.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Directing the daily and weekly operations of the editorial team; assigning content to staff editors and managing copy flow.
Collaborating with contributing content agencies for qualitative feedback.
Reviewing SEO/GEO alignment with internal experts.
Working with internal teams to ensure efficient production.
Assisting with strategic planning for future content.
Supporting local video/photo shoots.
Ideal Candidate/Additional Skills:
Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and projects within a cross-functional team.
Ability to engage and strategize collaboratively with team members.
Professional understanding of SEO/GEO principles.
Experience managing and editing various content types.
Enthusiasm for AI workstreams.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Experience with digital photography and Adobe Photoshop.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 4 years of experience managing workflow as part of an editorial staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
5+ years of experience managing editorial staff workflow at an automotive media outlet.
3+ years of experience working on automotive agency accounts or with automotive companies.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Plano, TX: $132,800 - $151,600 for Managing Editor
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
