Raymond Laborde Correctional Center is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the team in the Nursing Department as a Practical Nurse-Licensed 1, 2, or 3! You could join the group of other medical professionals who perform the nursing and care of inmates within a state correctional facility. Job Duties:• Administers prescribed medications to the inmate population in accordance with facility protocols, ensuring accuracy, safety, and proper documentation for all medication passes.
• Transcribes provider orders with precision, entering medications, treatments, and clinical directives into the appropriate systems while adhering to regulatory and facility standards.
• Conducts nursing assessments on inmates, evaluating physical and mental health status, identifying changes in condition, and communicating findings to the appropriate clinical providers.
• Performs venipuncture and collects laboratory specimens, preparing and processing samples according to clinical guidelines and maintaining chain-of-custody requirements.
• Responds promptly to inmate medical and mental health emergencies, providing immediate triage, stabilization, and nursing interventions until advanced care is available.
