Job Overview
Under supervision from a designated administrator, responsible for installation, operation, maintenance of plant controls and the university energy distribution systems.
Essential Functions
- Install, test, calibrate, maintain and repair of all makes and types of utility metering throughout campus.
- Maintain all electrical distribution system designs; including installation, operations, maintenance and upgrades to provide an efficient and reliable distribution system.
- Manage system programming; create program flow charts, logic diagrams, for the university medium voltage distribution systems.
- Provide technical support to all staff, including non-exempt personnel, including external entities, concerning meter operations, installation and troubleshooting to ensure that all utility control systems are functioning properly.
- Installation, repair, maintenance, and/or modification IT equipment /systems that interface with utility monitoring systems.
- Complete projects to upgrade and modify hardware and software to support campus utility requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and oversee a Preventive Maintenance (PM) testing program for all utility energy distribution systems.
- Develop trend reports and review data to verify proper system operations.
- Investigate customer satisfaction and measurement-related complaints and correct malfunctions.
- Support medium and high voltage distribution metering projects as assigned.
- Support non-exempt staff in various duties, such as PM.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree
- Nine (9) years of relevant education, experience and/or other specialized training can fulfill minimum education and experience requirements
Required Trainings/Certifications
- Three (3) years NETA certified or equivalent
Required Experience
- Five (5) years of experience in the field of medium voltage testing
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Exposure to large equipment
- May be exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, noise and dangerous machinery; may be exposed to high temperature, steam or hot water.
Shift: Varies Starting Pay Rate: $43.23 per hour Post Probationary Rate: per hour
