Summary
The Associate Director, Development Analytics and Informatics will lead and support the analytics and informatics needs of our life sciences research team. This role involves managing and analyzing complex biological data, developing informatics tools and workflows, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to advance scientific discoveries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field, and experience in managing large datasets, software development, and scientific research.
The role will partner internally with the key IT and relevant business stakeholders to implement and support critical systems and infrastructure across Drug Discovery and Development. This position will also be responsible for assessing software product releases for Arcus adoption, updating business process documentation, and training the relevant business functions.
Responsibilities
● Analyze large-scale biological and clinical datasets to support drug development and life sciences projects.
● Develop and implement informatics solutions and predictive models to enhance research and development processes.
● Design and develop custom software tools and databases to facilitate data management and analysis.
● Maintain and update existing informatics infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and security.
● Integrate and manage diverse data sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
● Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and other stakeholders to identify informatics needs and provide tailored solutions.
● Design and develop custom software tools and databases for data management and analysis.
● Conduct statistical analyses and interpret results to guide research and development strategies.
● Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in bioinformatics, data science, and life sciences.
● Communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders through reports, presentations, and visualizations.
● Provide training and support to team members on data analysis tools and methodologies.
Qualifications
● B.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field; or a Master’s degree with extensive relevant experience.
● 5+ years of experience in a research informatics role within the life sciences sector.
● Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Perl, VB, SQL or Java.
● Experience with research and bioinformatics tools and databases.
● Deep understanding and experience of manual and automated laboratory workflows in a wet lab or in an industrial setting.
● Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
● Experience with implementation and management of research systems such as Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
● Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning methods.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
