Job Summary
This position provides cost tracking, documentation control, project scheduling, and support services to Fossil Generation for the accomplishment of assigned major projects. These services include oversight of supplemental contract cost control personnel, developing cost estimates for outage and project work scopes, and creating project schedules in a manner that meets the desired project objectives. This is accomplished by communicating with the outage manager, project managers, equipment repair engineers, vendors and contract personnel to determine the project scope, logic ties, estimated costs, and other planning and scheduling parameters needed to effectively support the project directives. This position will manage cost tracking templates, project schedules, Outage Play Book templates, electronic share points, and all other document control processes used in the Vistra Outage Management Process.This position is critical to the success of capital projects and is responsible for the successful delivery of assigned project portfolio activities. This entails all assigned work from the outage manager or project manager throughout the project lifecycle including; cost projections, cost tracking, planning, estimating, and close out on assigned projects. The cost analyst must be capable of coordinating and supporting a wide range of functional organizational leads, subject matter experts, managers, and contractors to accomplish the goals and objectives set forth by Fossil Generation.
Job Description
Required Minimum Education and Experience
•Minimum education requirements are HS Diploma with 2 years power plant experience; •A minimum of 2 years Project Controls experience in the maintenance of power production equipment and/or unit outages. •A minimum of 2 years Project Scheduling experience in the maintenance of power production equipment and/or unit outages. •Proficient computer skills in standard Windows programs (Excel, Word, etc) •Team work and collaboration skills with all levels within the organization•Able to communicate complex issues effectively through written and verbal communication •Able to influence by establishing effective working relationships at all levels within the organization•Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving processes and/or techniques to address complex issues (i.e. Brown Paper planning process or similar)•Experience should demonstrate knowledge of Primavera scheduling software and schedule risk analysis.•Experience should demonstrate knowledge of plant accounting systems, outage cost tracking processes, outage and project risk analysis processes.•Experience in interfacing with contract craft personnel and equipment manufacturer field representatives.•Working knowledge of fossil power plant operations, work processes, and personnel.•Working knowledge of safety, health, and environmental requirements in fossil power plants.
