Position Overview:

Building an understanding of all loan type functions to assist members successfully and service the loans accurately and timely.  Maintain and service existing loans on internal systems, including payment and payoff processing, preparing loan payoff and payment history statements, and updating loan information. Actively listen and communicate with branches and other departments to support the membership with inquires, research, and correspondence.

Responsibilities:

  • 60% - Process payoff quote requests, payoff funds, payments, and payment reversals on consumer and mortgage loans.
  • 10% - Process Verification of Account requests for consumer and mortgage loans.
  • 10% - Individual reconciliation of daily transactions for end of day balancing.
  • 10% - Address phone/email/fax inquiries, questions, or concerns on consumer and mortgage loans.
  • 10% - Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Education:

Associates Degree in Mortgage Banking or Accounting

Bachelors Degree in Mortgage Banking or Accounting

Required Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:

  • Must have four-year degree, CCUE Certification, or Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP).
  • 0-3 years of experience in Mortgage or Loan Servicing, Customer Service, Cashiering, and GSE guidelines.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases. Black Knight/ICE experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Actively supports/promotes changes geared toward department process improvement and growth.
  • Exhibit independent work ethic with excellent analytical skills and the ability to conduct research.
  • Must be organized and able to manage detailed work accurately and timely. Must be able to prioritize responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change while prioritizing complex tasks and efficiently managing time.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Must possess a high level of self-control, self-confidence, positive attitude, and neat appearance.
  • Must be fluent in English and possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must understand and be dedicated to the Credit Union philosophy and willing to engage in ongoing training and professional development. 
  • Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policies established by the Credit Union.
