About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Additional Information:
- Hourly compensation: $18.50
- 2nd shift receives a 10% shift premium
- 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM Overtime as required
- 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:30PM-3:00AM Overtime as required
What you will do:
Align and secure engine components according to work instructions
Install gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual components
Ensure parts and materials used in assembly are defect-free
Assist in problem-solving and improvement initiatives across departments
Verify alignment of engine components using schematics and part prints
Inspect parts and materials for quality defects
Conduct audits and quality inspections to address known defects
Perform torque audits, leak tests, and visual inspections on engines
Submit and support resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards
Adhere to standard operating procedures and area-specific instructions
Provide process information to supervisors and managers
Occasionally participate in training and development
Perform any other assigned duties
What you will have:
Must be 18 years old
Must be a 2026 High School graduate
Must have completed a CTE Program in High School
Willingness to learn and operate power equipment
Ability to work well with others
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
Willingness to work a set schedule including overtime when needed
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
