About the role: 
Reporting to the vice president, Business Development, Strategy, New Technologies (Electrophysiology), the Senior Manager of New Segments, EP, will be responsible for the development of strategies for continued business growth and expansion. While working with Business Development, Clinical, R&D and Marketing, the role will focus primarily on identifying strategies and recommendations to enter new, adjacent market segments as well as opportunities to expand business within current markets. The role requires a mix of business acumen and judgment, fact-based decision making, and ability to quickly grasp technologies and investment options. 

 

The successful candidate will gain:

Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in Arden Hills, MN at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Electrophysiology division’s franchises, portfolio, markets, and strategic plan as a basis for future opportunity identification.  
  • Identifies, investigates and analyzes opportunities for growth across EP that may benefit from the development of both organic or non-organic growth strategies.
  • Lead assessment and monitoring of new market adjacencies and emerging technologies via management of cross-functional teams. Provide comprehensive report-outs of these projects with clear conclusions and definitive recommendations for next steps.
  • Develop and refine a fact base of current and future adjacent market dynamics, competitive landscape, key business trends and market conditions through market research, clinical literature, coordination with divisional teams and interaction with key customers
  • Support the development and maintenance of new market and revenue models, informed thorough input from internal stakeholders, market events, and the execution of market research as required.
  • Work closely with Global Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical etc. to analyze and create clear recommendations for commercial growth opportunities, such as new geographic expansion, alternative sites of service, or business model innovation. 
  • Support Business Development in M&A and VC due diligence activities with analytic assessments and strategic market research.
  • Strong ability to lead and influence senior and executive management on various business analysis and business cases for new segments growth/expansion required.
  • Strong business acumen, fact-based decision making, and ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies and investment opportunities.
  • In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree in applicable field including coursework in Finance, Marketing, and Strategy.  
  • 8+ years experience in healthcare or consulting for healthcare clients.
  • Experience scoping and retaining third parties for primary market research engagements.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional strategy projects to successful execution.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex financial modeling, including market, revenue, and investment models.  Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
