Responsibilities

As the Global Head of Data Operations within Oaktree’s Information Solutions team, you will build and lead an enterprise data operations function that ensures the reliability, observability, and quality of data flowing through our platforms. You will oversee global data operations, data quality execution, and incident management and will be responsible for developing a unified, proactive operating model that integrates closely with Data Governance, Data Product, and Engineering. This role will establish a comprehensive view for monitoring daily operational health, drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, and manage a 24x7 global support organization that includes offshore teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and lead a global data operations organization focused on reliability, monitoring, and proactive issue management.
  • Define the operating model, staffing, and training strategy for continuous, follow-the-sun coverage.
  • Build and maintain a unified operational monitoring framework that provides real-time visibility into data movement, job performance, and platform health.
  • Introduce predictive alerts and automation to detect and resolve issues before business impact.
  • Oversee incident management function, coordinating response, communication, and RCA across teams.
  • Partner with Engineering to embed operational readiness and resiliency into design and release processes.
  • Lead data quality operations in collaboration with Governance, defining and enforcing reconciliation and validation processes that strengthen data trust.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards tracking uptime, incident trends, SLA adherence, and overall performance.
  • Manage vendor and managed data provider operations, including SLAs, budgets, and performance oversight.
  • Drive automation, standardization, and self-healing to improve resilience and reduce manual effort.
  • Foster collaboration across technology, operations, and business teams, promoting accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across the data ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of experience in data management, data operations, or a similar field.
  • Experience with modern data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) and operational tooling for monitoring, alerting, and observability.
  • Deep understanding of data pipeline architectures, observability frameworks, and incident management methodologies.
  • Strong background in data quality management.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that data operations are fully integrated into the firm’s broader technical and business environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams and collaborate across functions to drive operational excellence.
  • Experience in developing and leading 24x7 centralized operations and “follow the sun” staffing models.
