Examples of duties
This position plays a key role in raising pheasants for statewide release and assisting with daily game farm operations. As a Wildlife Maintenance Propagator, you will perform the following duties:
- Brooder Preparation: Prepare brooder houses by cleaning, disinfecting, and setting up materials such as floor shavings
- Bird Care: Maintain proper temperature, ventilation, lighting, feed, and water while observing bird behavior during all stages of development
- Bird Handling: Perform tasks such as administering medication, sexing birds, trimming beaks, removing deceased birds, and loading birds for distribution
- Facility Maintenance: Complete carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, and mechanical tasks to maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds
- Equipment Service: Conduct preventative maintenance on trucks, tractors, and other mechanical equipment including replacing fluids, filters, and worn parts
- Work Leadership: Lead Game Farm Workers and maintain daily operational records

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Shift work during the brooding season.
- Note: You will be considered an essential employee which requires reporting into the office location in time of an emergency.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months propagation experience working at a breeding facility that produces a minimum of 1000 game birds, which includes skilled maintenance and trades work utilized in building construction and equipment maintenance and operation.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires an active Pennsylvania driver's license, which is not under suspension.
