A DAY IN THE LIFE:

In partnership with key stakeholders, the Sr. Payroll Technology Analyst translates and drives strategic objectives and priorities into system requirements, expands and improves system-linked operational efficiencies, expands user experience within the system, and identifies changes and/or new technical solutions to optimize the use of technology throughout the function.  The Sr. Payroll Technology Analyst is a subject matter expert for Payroll systems and works with various stakeholders to optimize Payroll design, configuration, and technology solutions.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

  • Acts as project manager of Payroll system initiatives, creates, and drives project schedules, updates status reports, facilitates ongoing project update meetings with stakeholders, and manages projects through completion.
  • Coordinates with Payroll system vendors for maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and issues; monitors and responds to all support ticket activity.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of Payroll systems associated with the collection, retrieval, management, accessibility, and usage of employee information for Payroll department planning and activities.
  • Manages Payroll systems functionality, including integration with other systems that receive/utilize payroll data. Business systems may include, but are not limited to, ShareWorks, Fidelity, API scheduling and timekeeping systems.
  • Drives and expands continuous improvement through both technical (systems) innovations and process improvements to automate complex tasks, minimize manual work, and enable expansion of employee and manager self-service.
  • Maintains internal database files and tables and develops custom reports/dashboards/analytics to meet the requirements of Finance management and staff.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in Payroll systems, reporting data utilization and analytics, supporting the Finance department and business on system-based Payroll metrics, and reporting needs.
  • Works closely with Payroll and Finance stakeholders to evaluate Payroll system needs, modifying existing Payroll systems and/or implementing new technical solutions to meet changing demands.
  • Initiates, pursues, and recommends system/process improvements and enhancements, participates in Payroll system networking and educational opportunities, builds and leverages Payroll network of contacts.
  • Advocates on the company’s behalf for pertinent future functionality, participates in user feedback opportunities, and provides updates to the Payroll and Finance departments and stakeholders.
  • Identifies training needs of end users; develops and provides the necessary training to meet those needs.
  • Partners with the IT and Internal Communication teams on the continual improvement of the employee experience and data integration of Payroll systems within the full ecosystem of Tandem platforms.
  • Partners with the SOX team to ensure compliance of business processes and data management and applicable controls within Payroll systems and acts as internal point of contact for SOX audits/testing.
  • Performs system/data audits to ensure integrity of stored data; troubleshoots data issues.
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA, SOX and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • CPP, strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant Payroll systems experience.
  • Business intelligence/advanced reporting experience, required.
  • Experience with Workday and ADP, preferred.
  • Experience with UKG, strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment.
  • Experience in a high volume, dynamic medical device,
