What You Will Contribute to Altos

The Security Director will act as the global lead for ensuring the development, oversight and compliance of the Security programs across all global operations offices and labs. The position will ensure compliance of programs with all applicable security regulations, including documentation, reporting, licensure, training, and procedure development, and will take appropriate actions to minimize security related risk to employees, facilities and the business. 

Who You Are

Responsibilities

  • Develop risk-based security programs to incorporate physical site security measures at all of the Altos facilities
  • Establish protocols to ensure personnel safety including partnering with the People Team on access control, background checks, other personnel surety requirements as appropriate 
  • Partner with EHS and Site Operations to ensure systems are in place to control access to and protect the DEA regulated areas and radiation use areas
  • Partner with IT to develop programs to protect Intellectual Property and cyber security concerns. 
  • Lead the Business Continuity Program for the company, partnering with Facilities Management to address redundancy and backup of utilities for continuous operations                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
  • Ensure global Institutes compliance with all applicable security regulations, including documentation, reporting, permits, training, and procedure development.
  • Conduct regular assessments of security procedures, practices, relative international codes as applicable, related equipment, training program effectiveness, and other security related items across the global business functions.
  • Influence relevant site management, customers and stakeholders, as appropriate, to drive safety and security culture improvements across global operations.
  • Review new or proposed changes to site facilities to determine all necessary security requirements are addressed in a thorough and rigorous manner for both temporary and permanent locations
  • Develop strategy for ensuring physical site security measures are implemented for temporary and permanent spaces
  • Perform annual (at a minimum) sweeps of research facilities, laboratories and offices to minimize opportunities for bugs and hidden cameras.
  • Develop and implement security programs for Executive team members
  • Must be able to think strategically and ensure deliverables are aligned with broader organization and create awareness of this direction with affected members/business functions.           
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, other internal departments of the Corporation and the community.
  • Maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years prior experience with undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years prior EHS experience with Master’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Security Management Experience and/or experience in a criminal justice/law enforcement field preferred 
  • Security experience operating within a biopharmaceutical company highly preferred

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Frequent long durations in office and/or cubicle environment.
  • Frequent visits to global commercial operations offices
  • Occasional visits to research and development laboratories, and utility areas.
