Position Purpose
Provides logistical and inventory control support for the Distribution Centers. Loads assigned delivery vehicle, drives to specific location, and unloads.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Receiving & Distribution
- Loads and delivers warehouse inventory, following an assigned route to schools in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Operates a variety of warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, pallet jacks, furniture hand dollies, hand trucks, and stock pickers.
- Performs preventative maintenance and disassembly/reassembly of warehouse equipment.
- Assists in all warehouse operations as determined by warehouse supervisor including loading and unloading incoming and outgoing stock, assisting with warehouse inventories, and performing housekeeping duties.
- Ensures all pulling, loading, and delivery tickets are accurately filled, and delivered to specified locations, obtaining signatures for items delivered.
- Verifies route quantities to ensure correct loading.
- Provides exceptional customer service at all times.
- Completes emergency deliveries as directed.
- Restocks bins and shelves with supplies as needed.
- Processes equipment, furniture, and supplies for distribution with proper identifications affixed.
- Assists in large-scale moves at District Service Centers, schools, and other facilities as directed.
- Assists with set up of tables, chairs, portable stages, and choral risers for special events.
- Picks up and delivers all items in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Works periodic unscheduled overtime on short notice as directed.
Safety
- Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including vehicles, and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition according to established inspection procedures.
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and carrying. Operates tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of safety protocols, including District rules and regulations, OSHA, and Texas rules of the road.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
- Knowledge of office procedures and of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of records administration and maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Skill at the beginner level, working with Microsoft Office 365, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Skill in interpersonal relationships, including using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations with accuracy.
- Ability to read and understand loading and delivery tickets.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to accurately retrieve and deliver boxes of files and records.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, including acuity in low-light environments.
