As our Medical Editor, you will…
Be part of a team responsible for supporting and collaborating with the copywriters in presenting a clear, concise, factual, and grammatically correct copy to our healthcare-related clients. Depending on your workload, you may also have commercial/retail clients as part of your editing portfolio. You will also be involved in editorial and proofreading support for other departments when needed to review concepts, client presentation materials, and new business pitches/RFPs. Our Medical Editor ensures crucial quality control over our clients’ projects, across all stages of both traditional and digital media.
Be Accountable and Responsible
- Review material for grammar, spelling, punctuation, correct medical terminology, typos, and formatting
- Check the factual accuracy of the content
- Ensure style consistency (AMA style, client-specific style, brand and campaign-style)
- Check claims against original sources for quality control
- Verify correct implementation of client and regulatory changes
These are the qualifications we’re looking for
- 2+ years of experience editing medical copy
- BS/BA in English, Journalism, or a Science field from a 4-year college or university
- Some advertising agency experience preferred
- Must be proficient in using PubMed and the American Medical Association Manual of Style to verify references, spelling, medical terminology, and style
- High level of computer literacy, including some experience with Google Workspace; experience with digital routing systems a plus
- Must be extremely detail-oriented, have excellent written and verbal skills, stay cool/calm
