Job Summary:
We’re looking for a dependable and customer-focused CDL Driver to join our team at our brand-new Fairview Distribution Center, opening this summer. As one of the first team members at this location, you’ll play an integral role in launching delivery operations, setting service standards, and shaping the customer experience and workplace culture.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering orders to customers, picking up stock from vendors, and maintaining the safety and functionality of your vehicle. You’ll also ensure all deliveries meet regulatory requirements and accurate records are maintained. Routes will cover regional Northeast states including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Vermont, New York, and Connecticut. Drivers are typically out three nights per week and home every weekend, with overtime opportunities available for those looking to pick up additional hours. This is a unique opportunity to be the face of the company in a growing region, and we’re seeking someone who takes pride in safety, customer service, and running an organized schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Truck Loading:
- Efficiently load staged orders in a manner that optimizes delivery routes.
- Product Delivery & Pick-Up:
- Deliver products to customers and branch locations as per the scheduled routes.
- Pick up products from suppliers as needed.
- Handle hazardous loads and regulatory forms with care and accuracy.
- Properly manage perishable and freezeable products to maintain product integrity.
- Maintain a customer-first attitude with top-notch service and communication skills.
- Record Maintenance:
- Ensure licenses and permits are current and readily available.
- Keep accurate logs, mileage reports, and other necessary documents.
- Submit all paperwork, such as bills of lading, purchase orders, and mileage logs, to the designated office staff promptly.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Required:
- Education: High school degree or equivalent
- Experience: 1+ year(s) of previous semi-driving experience
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Drivers License)
- Ability to lift and carry items as necessary
- Preferred:
- HAZMAT and tanker endorsements (company assistance can be provided to obtain)
- Experience with the following: weight scale (truck weighing), forklift, pallet jacks, load locks, and HAZMAT equipment
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain professionalism on the road
- Ability to handle hazardous materials, perishable goods, and regulatory paperwork
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate logs and records
