Role & Responsibilities
The Director of Retail Training will be responsible for creating, building and managing a world class training strategy, across all three lines of business: Home Electronics, Digital Appliances and Mobility. This leader will develop and improve end-to-end processes, for training initiatives. In addition, this role is responsible for identifying and managing the training capabilities within our systems and platforms used to deliver training to partner sellers. This role is also responsible for metrics and reporting associated with training and certification status and results across the partner ecosystem.
This position will be required to garner insights and execute initiatives that improve upon the existing field processes for three lines of business and ultimately align to the broader company goals. This leader will partner with the Field Execution team to identify opportunity markets and best practices to close gaps and share learnings. This Director will interact with Leadership across Samsung, within cross functional areas, to drive Samsung’s retail field experience forward. This will include being a fierce advocate for the field team, driving communication, knowledge, processes, and feedback into everything we do, so that the field can focus on driving sell out. Additionally, the leader will be required to explain complicated, detailed and quickly changing facts to Samsung’s retail executive leadership team in a succinct, easy to understand manner.
Position Objective
- Set the product Training Strategy for the mobility, home entertainment and digital appliance line of businesses
- Responsible for heading up product training for Retail Channel Strategy, Content & Development, Learning and Development, Training Strategic Initiatives and Operations with heavy focus on Consumer and Channel strategy and learning and development support. Oversees a team of 40+ people.
- Develop and design product training and development roadmap for internal retail team employees, specifically focused on the national field force team.
- Responsible for coordinating and operationalizing training led events and initiatives such as sales New Hire Orientations, National Training Meetings, Regional and Local field led training engagements
- Responsible for managing 30-60-90-day training calendars and planning while managing quarterly and annual plans
- Creates and maintains the Training GTM playbook, outlining all training operations, strategy and GTM activities
- Responsible for achieving critical training Key Performance Indicators (KPI) against global and national targets
- Management and strategic direction of the iconic product sales and service training that supports product
